What to Wear, Pack & Know

Here you’ll find all the little details to help you feel at home during our wedding weekend — from what to wear, to what to pack, to a few travel tips and local favorites. Consider this your guide to making the most of Ireland (and our time together at Kilkea Castle).

Attire

  • The Night Before: Casual pub style. Jeans, sweaters, sneakers — no judgment here.

  • The Big Day: Black Tie Formal. Tuxedos and formal dresses for ceremony, cocktails, and dinner. A 30-minute break after dinner lets you change into dancing attire — or keep the glam alive all night.

  • The Afternoon After: Casual again. BBQ, lawn games, live music — think comfy clothes and shoes for the grass.

Travel Tips

  • Currency: Euros (€). Credit cards accepted almost everywhere.

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond travel dates. No visa needed for U.S. stays under 90 days.

  • Weather: July is mild. Expect 65–70°F days and cooler evenings. Pack layers.

Packing Notes

  • Smart casual for the pub and BBQ.

  • Formalwear for the big day.

  • Comfy shoes for exploring castle grounds or playing lawn games.

  • A light jacket or wrap for breezy Irish nights.
